About Warren
Warren Kinsella is a raconteur, bon vivant, and simple County lawyer. He is also an author and consultant.
Born in Montreal in 1960, Warren has lived all over, but mostly regards Calgary as home. He has three kids who love him and tolerate him.
In 2006, Warren founded a firm called the Daisy Consulting Group. Previously, he served as special assistant to the Right Honourable Jean Chrétien and as chief of staff in a number of federal ministries. Peter C. Newman once said: “Warren Kinsella can have an effect on as many Canadians as The New York Times.”
For several years, Warren taught at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law. He studied there as well as at Carleton University and Harvard University. He is presently a national columnist for Postmedia.
Warren has written eleven books, including Unholy Alliances (Lester, 1992), on international terrorism; Web of Hate(HarperCollins, 1994; republished in 1996 and 2001), a national bestseller about organized racism; and Party Favours(HarperCollins, 1997), a best-selling novel.
His book on political communications, Kicking Ass in Canadian Politics (Random House, 2001), was followed by Fury’s Hour: A Sort-of Punk Manifesto (Random House, 2005), which explored the punk movement. The National Post named Fury’s Hour one of the best books of 2005.
His strategic communications book, The War Room (Dundurn, 2007), was called a “must-read” by the Toronto Sun and has been reprinted many times.
His book predicting Trumpism, Fight the Right, was published in North America by Random House in 2012. The Hill Times called it “one of the best books of the year.”
His novel Recipe for Hate was published by Dundurn in 2017. Quill & Quire described it as “a suspenseful page-turner.” Publishers Weekly called it “fascinating… an unflinching page-turner,” while The Globe and Mail praised it as “absorbing, jarring and raw.” The second book in the X Gang series, New Dark Ages, was released in Fall 2018, followed by Age of Unreason in Fall 2019.
In 2025, Warren is publishing The Hidden Hand, a book about the global propaganda war against Israel and the West. A documentary, The Campaign, is also being produced about him and his work.
Warren is an exhibited painter whose work sells across Canada and the United States. He has been into punk forever, and his band, the Hot Nasties, released a new EP in 2025 titled Time.
Most days, he can be found in Prince Edward County with his lovely partner, E. Come visit.
